Violation Reports

November 2012 – One alert member of the FFRFMCC spotted and reported a Vote Pro-Life banner displayed at the entrance to the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Richmond, IL. FFRFMCC then reported this to the national headquarters of FFRF. Upon further investigation by the FFRF legal staff, a letter has been sent to the IRS by FFRF staff attorney Rebecca Markert citing a possible tax exemption violation.

November 2012 – FFRFMCC was successful in having a church sign removed from a city parkway. St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Park Ridge, IL had posted a sign advertising their annual “Bethlehem Walk” scheduled for the first weekend in December. An FFRFMCC representative had complained in person at the Park Ridge City Hall, requesting the church relocate their sign to private property.
