“Fighting Witch Hunters” – A Lecture by The Satanic Temple

We are pleased to announce the FFRFMCC will act as a sponsor for a presentation to be given by Mr. Lucien Greaves, co-founder of the Satanic Temple and Ms. Sarah Pono Rivera, the director of Grey Faction, a campaign of the Satanic Temple tasked with eliminating pseudo-science in mental health care practices that are predicated on harmful conspiracist satanic delusions.  Mr. Greaves and Ms. Pono Rivera will also be delivering this lecture at the 7th Annual Freethought Festival in Madison, WI on March 17th.  They will be in Chicago on March 21st for a protest march against the ISSTD (International Society for the Study of Trauma and Disassociation) which works to impress satanic panic delusions into the minds of mental health consumers and the public at large.

The presentation entitled, “The Satanic Temple: Fighting Witch-Hunters,” will explain the role played by licensed mental health professionals in the creation and continuation of the “Satanic Panic” of the 1980’s through 1990’s, bringing the audience up-to-date on the problem of conspiracism and pseudoscience in mental health care today.  Grey Faction advocates to disqualify distorted psychiatric therapy that impacts mental health consumers at large, calling for an end to pseudoscience, conspiracy theories, and religious superstition within the therapeutic setting.

The Satanic Temple, like the Freedom From Religion Foundation, effectively battles state/church violations and religious intrusion into civil rights.  They have been successful in removing Judeo-Christian monuments from public property, as well as being very active in the support of women’s reproductive rights.
